Pink and Blue

Experience the breathtaking contrast of the deep blue Indian Ocean and the vibrant pink Hutt Lagoon captured masterfully by international landscape photographer, Karl Monaghan. This distinctive piece of Australian photography, titled “Pink and Blue”, is a part of Monaghan’s Mid West Collection, an ode to the captivating beauty of Western Australia’s Mid West region.

The aerial view brilliantly presents the picturesque fishing village nestled between the mighty expanse of the Indian Ocean and the tranquil banks of the mesmerizing Hutt Lagoon. This vibrant spectacle of nature is a testament to Karl Monaghan’s penchant for beautiful landscape photography, offering a perspective that truly encapsulates the spirit of the region.

Hutt Lagoon, often referred to as Pink Lake, is a natural wonder of the Australian landscape. A marine salt lake located near the Indian Ocean coast, its unusual pink hue is due to the presence of the carotenoid-producing algae Dunaliella salina. This exceptional phenomena creates a breathtaking canvas of color that varies from bubble-gum pink to lilac purple, making it a paradise for landscape photographers like Karl Monaghan.
